Main Purpose of Role

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead and support initiatives that drive operational excellence across our processes. In this role, you will analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to deliver measurable results in quality, cost, delivery, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement projects across departments using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable strategies.
  • Facilitate workshops, value stream mapping, root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams), and process standardization efforts.
  • Leads hands-on initiatives to measure production and identify areas for improvement (i.e. time studies, etc.)
  • Manage capital expenditure (CapEx) processes, including the identification, justification, planning, and execution of investment projects to support operational improvements.
  • Manage and execute projects from initiation through completion, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Oversee Management of Change (MoC) processes to ensure that all modifications to equipment, processes, or procedures are evaluated, approved, communicated, and implemented safely and effectively.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process documentation to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), driving accountability and sustained improvement.
  • Mentor and train production operators and team members on CI tools and techniques to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams to implement and sustain improvements.
  • Document processes, changes, and outcomes for knowledge sharing and audit readiness.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and CI trends to recommend innovative solutions.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a Continuous Improvement, Process Engineering, or Operational Excellence role.
  • Solid knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred), and other CI methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, etc.).

Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for process layout, equipment design, or facility planning
